Katherine Maddox, 91,
of Owenton, died Feb. 8, 2006, at the New Horizons Medical Center.
Born March 21, 1914, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the
late Martha Cammack Smith. She was preceded in death by her daughter
Hilda Smith and her brother William Smith. She was a homemaker
and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter Helen (Dick) Stewart of Owenton;
four grandchildren, John H. Smith, Marcia Hunt, Melanie Hardwick,
and Lonnie Stewart; eight great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Feb. 11, 2006, with Bro. Gene Hill officiating.
Burial was in Jonesville Cemetery.

Ponder, infant
Shane Patrick Ponder,
infant son of Joe and Thonya Greene Ponder was stillborn at Frankfort
Regional Medical Center, Feb. 8, 2006.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his sister, Maggie
Ponder; maternal grandparents, Melvin and Vicki Green; and paternal
grandmother, Shirley Mae Ponder, all of Owenton.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Charles
E. Ponder.
Graveside services were Feb. 11, 2006.
Marie
Vannarsdall, 86
Marie Vannarsdall, 86,
of Owenton, died Feb. 12, 2006, at Harborside Healthcare Center.
Born June 5, 1919, in Grant County, she was a homemaker and a
member of Macedonia Baptist Church where she was the pianist,
Sunday school teacher and former superintendent. She was also
a former president of the Owen County Homemakers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Vannarsdall.
She is survived by three cousins, Yvonne Wright of Williamstown,
Leona Teegarden of Independence and Wanda Ellis of Falmouth.
Funeral services were held Feb. 14, 2006, at McDonald & New
Funeral Home with Bro. Jesse Bourne officiating. Burial was in
Owenton I.O.O.F Cemetery.
