After getting shutout in third quarter, Rebels

rally for 20 points in final period to earn win

The Owen County freshman boys basketball team survived a desolate third quarter on Jan. 31 at home against Walton-Verona.
Despite being outscored 11-0 in the third quarter, the Rebels caught fire in the fourth quarter, scoring 20 points to rally for a 44-40 victory.
Owen County led 8-6 after one quarter and 24-16 at halftime, but couldn’t score in the third quarter, falling behind 27-24 entering the final period.
Behind seven points from Colin Gamble and six by Drew Marston, the Rebels outscored Walton-Verona 20-13 in the final quarter to pull ahead and earn the victory.
Gamble finished with a game-high 19 points. Marston added 13 points.
