Hughes, 73
Ray Hughes, 73, of Riverside,
Ohio, died Jan. 29, 2006, at Grandview Hospital.
He was retired from the RTA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herschel and Hattie Perry
Hughes of Lusby’s Mill; a son, David Hughes; a daughter,
Connie Featheroff; a sister; and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Bonita Hughes; sons, Kenneth
(Debbie) Hughes, Bobby (Susan) Cole, and Scott (Dana) Cole; two
sisters; three brothers; and numerous grandchildren.
Funeral services were Feb. 2, 2006 at Tobias Funeral Home-Beavercreek
Chapel.
Robert
Crouch, 94
Robert Yager Crouch,
94, died Jan. 30, 2006, at the Gallatin County Health Care Center
in Warsaw. He was the son of the late Will Keene Crouch and Settie
Crouch. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Hall Crouch;
and one sister, Mary Chapman.
Robert was born on June 29, 1911, in Owen County. He once lived
in Florida and worked as a school bus driver. He was also a farmer
and member of the Glencoe Baptist Chruch. Mr. Crouch served his
country in the Army during World War II.
He is survived by two nieces, Loretta Chapman of Independence
and Linda Caldwell of Warsaw.
Funeral services were Feb. 3, 2006, at the Carlton-Lowder Funeral
Home in Warsaw with Bro. Hardin Lowe officiating. Burial was in
Glencoe Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of Northern
Kentucky.
Malcolm
Slaughter, 82
Malcolm “Mack”
Slaughter, 82, died Feb. 5, 2006, at the Harborside Healthcare
Center in Owenton. He was the husband of the late Ellen Cammack
Slaughter, who died in 1995.
Born April 29, 1923, in Owenton, he was the son of the late Brent
and Elizabeth Conover Slaughter. He was a farmer and former deputy
sheriff in Owen County. He was a member of the Poplar Grove Baptist
Church.
Survivors include one son,Larry Slaughter and Jackie Towne of
Raleigh, N.C.; one daughter, Barbara Locker and husband David
of Owenton; and three grandchildren, Darren and Elizabeth Slaughter
of Frankfort and Jonathan Locker of Owenton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 8, 2006 at McDonald
& New Funeral Homes, Main Street location with Bro. Matt Dye
and Bro. Arthur Hardin officiating. Burial will follow in the
Owenton I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the Kentucky Sheriff’s
Boys & Girls Ranch or the Dallasburg Baptist Church.
