A
gift from God
Isaiah Columbia overcomes the odds
Isaiah Columbia is 17 months old. Already he’s gone
through more than most people will during their entire lives.
Katie and Robbie Columbia learned 22 weeks into the pregnancy
through a routine ultrasound that Isaiah suffered from a congenital
heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, and that
upon birth, he would need immediate surgery.
And
the candidates are ...
For the first time
in at least 60 years, Owen County will have a Republican primary
for county judge-executive.
Most recently, the county had a Republican candidate for the
office in 2002 when Tom Olds ran against Democrat Billy O’Banion
and Independent Horace “Doug” West for the position.
Olds also ran against O’Banion in 1998 and in 1993 against
Ronnie Dunavent, whom he defeated to hold the position for
a five-year term.

To
help improve staffing issues
Every day, about 85 percent of Owen County’s residents
over the age of 18 leave the community to work.
When they do, many of Owen County’s volunteer firefighters
go with them.
