Howard
retires from Peoples Bank
Peoples
Bank & Trust Company announced the retirement of Lucile Howard
on Dec. 31, 2005, after 17 years of service.
Howard began work at Peoples Bank in April of 1988 as a part-time
employee in the bookkeeping department. In December of 1988, she
was hired full-time in loan administration.
Asked what she liked about working at the bank she replied, “I
liked working there because it was close to home and I met a lot
of Owen County people. The bank was a great place to work, and
the people were like family to me. I don’t know what I would
have done when my husband was sick. The employees were so compassionate
and helped me through such a hard time in my life. It is something
I will never forget and can never repay.”
Howard’s plans for retirement are to enjoy being at home.
She enjoys working in her yard, reading and spending time with
her family.
“The bank appreciates Lucile’s 17 years of service,
and we wish her a happy retirement,” said James Beach, president.
“We will certainly miss her.”
