WMU
activities include speaker at Cedar Hill
A few years ago, in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky, Bessie
McPeek, a mother who had been through many problems of her own,
began to see the needs of young mothers in her area. She began
a ministry called “God’s Love From a Diaper Bag,”
distributing diapers and baby food at her own expense. She will
be the guest speaker at the WMU meeting Saturday at Cedar Hill
Baptist Church.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. and be followed by a “soup
and sandwich” lunch. Cedar Hill will provide soups and drinks.
Other churches are asked to bring sandwiches or deserts. Women
of all churches are encouraged to attend. If possible, bring non-perishable
food, toiletries and baby-care items for the Samaritan’s
Pantry.
Jan. 15—-Commissioning service for John Roberts at Paint
Lick Baptist Church at 2 p.m. He will be commissioned by the North
American Mission Board to serve in the Missions Service Corps.
