A market and readership
survey is still online and waiting on responses from Owen Countians.
The survey started in October and has received tremendous support,
but additional responses are needed in order to complete the project,
according to Patti M. Clark, publisher of The News-Herald.
“We want to hear from as many people as possible,”
she said. “This survey will help us determine what we print
in our newspaper and which advertisers we approach so that we
can best meet the needs of our readers.”
The online survey is handled by Pulse Research, a company based
out of Portland, Ore., that works with media companies and retailers
nationwide.
The online survey can be accessed via the Internet link www.pulseresearch.com/thenewsherald.
A link to the survey can also be found on The News Herald Web
site at www.owentonnewsherald.com.
Upon completing the survey, respondents will automatically be
entered into a drawing for $600 in cash. The second-place winner
will receive $200. The third-place winner will receive $100. Prize
winners will be announced in the The News-Herald after the completion
of the 200 minimum surveys.
All responses for the online survey will be strictly confidential.
The purpose of the market research survey is to better understand
newspaper readership patterns, gather suggestions and insights
from readers, improve the newspaper, gain information on shopping
patterns to share with local retailers and collect data to potentially
help attract additional businesses to the market.
“The only way to find out what is going on community-wide
is to do a community-wide survey,” Clark said. “We
want to understand readers’ shopping habits and be able
to share this information with our retail community to help them
understand the dynamics of the market and to better serve customers
in the Owen County area.”
“We encourage our readers to take the online survey because
it’s fun, easy and completely confidential,” Clark
added. “We look forward to hearing from you and implementing
your suggestions.”
