Owen County freshman Dani Hutchinson tries to find someone to pass to Monday during the junior varsity game against Gallatin County. The Rebels had a hard time finding the basket, falling 35-10.The Rebels only connected on four baskets in the game, while getting shutout in the third quarter and scoring just three points in the second half. After trailing 11-5 at the end of the first quarter, the Rebels were outscored 24-5 the rest of the way. Morgan Green and Keisha Prather each scored three points. Shana Kelly and Brittany McDonald had two points apiece.


Sports Briefs

High school league tips off in January
Owen County Parks & Recreation is now holding sign-ups for its second season of the High School Basketball League. The league will be held on Thursday evenings starting January 5. The league fee is $40 per player. Registration forms are available at the high school office and First Baptist Life Center. For information please call 484-3225.


Men’s hoops league offers registration

Owen County Parks & Recreation is now holding sign-ups for its Men’s Basketball League. The league will again be held on Monday evenings starting January 9. The league fee is $25 per player. The league will be limited to the first 48 paid players. For information please call 484-3225.
