Marie Lusby Morrow, 85, of Owenton, died Saturday at her residence.
Born Aug. 25, 1920, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the
late William David and Hallie Wilhoite Lusby. She was a member
of Cedar Hill Baptist Church and sang in the choir, taught Sunday
school and Bible school, was a member of the Women’s Missionary
Union and served on numerous church committees. She also volunteered
at the hospital and Harborside.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Carter
of Harrodsburg and Bili and Ralph Shelburne of Houston, Texas;
a grandson and his wife, Rob and Laurie Trumbo of Simpsonville;
a great-grandson, Austin Taylor Trumbo; a step-great-granddaughter,
Lauren Masterson; two sisters, Doris Day Bourne and Retta Hollins
of Owenton; and three nieces and two nephews. She was preceded
in death by her husband, A.T. Morrow, and three brothers, Acton
D. Lusby, Herschel B. Lusby and William D. Lusby.
Funeral services were held Dec. 13 at McDonald & New Funeral
Homes with Bros. Ross Layne, John Lucas and Larry Adkins officiating.
Burial was in Owenton I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Pallbearers were Clint
Swigert, Garrett Hammonds, Mike Snider, Charlie Riddle, David
Boling and Larry Ayres. Honorary bearers were Daniel J. Bourne,
Herschel B. Bourne, David Daugherty, Rob Trumbo and Ralph Shelburne.
