Lady Rebels nab first win of the season

The Owen County girls basketball team picked up its first win of the season, defeating Williamstown 48-40 Friday night on the road. Kelsey Williams led Owen County with 15 points, 16 rebounds and eight blocks. Kendall Cochran scored 13 points, followed by Shea Green (7), Sagan Wainscott (6) Dani Hutchinson (3) and Emma Lowe (2). The Lady Rebels (1-1) lost the season opener to Grant County, 52-45. Cochran (18 points). Green (16), Wainscott (7) and Lowe (4) led the way. Owen County played the home opener Tuesday against Trimble County and play Thursday at Carroll County.
